Athumanesar Theological Seminary was established under the vision of Athumanesar Ministries, India — a ministry that has spent decades proclaiming the apostolic gospel of Jesus Christ across Tamil Nadu and beyond. The seminary is the academic arm of that vision: a place where those who hear the call of God can receive structured, Spirit-directed training for ministry.
How We Began
The seminary grew out of a deep conviction within Athumanesar Ministries that the church cannot thrive without trained, doctrinally grounded ministers. Seeing the need for affordable, accessible theological education rooted in the apostolic faith, the founders established Athumanesar Theological Seminary as a unit of United Christian Believers' Fellowship (UCBF). Located in Thanjavur, the seminary serves students from across Tamil Nadu and beyond, providing a structured path from calling to ministry.

What We Believe
Athumanesar Theological Seminary stands on the apostolic doctrine established in the New Testament. Our theology is rooted in Scripture and consistent with the foundational teachings of Athumanesar Ministries, India.
One God
We believe in one God, fully revealed in the person of Jesus Christ. The Father, Word, and Holy Spirit are one (John 1:1, 14; Deuteronomy 6:4; Colossians 2:9).
Salvation Through Jesus Christ
We believe salvation is received through repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the infilling of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues (Acts 2:38; Acts 10:44–48).
The Five-Fold Ministry
We believe God has set in the church apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers for the equipping of the saints and the building of the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11–12).
The Authority of Scripture
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God — the only rule for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16–17).
The Return of Christ
We believe in the literal, physical return of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of the dead (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 19:11–16).

Our programmes are accredited by the International Association for Theological Accreditation (IATA), giving every graduate a qualification that is recognised within theological and ministry networks across India and internationally. The seminary operates as a unit of United Christian Believers' Fellowship (UCBF), ensuring full doctrinal and administrative alignment with the parent ministry.
